Welcome to Calinkery Life.

There are three basic components to Calinkery: 

• Books by Rick Abel (that's me!) - I've written three children's books so far and am self-publishing them through Calinkery and IngramSpark.  All will be available through Amazon and other on-line retailers.  If you want a signed copy, just drop me an email and I'll put that together for you.  The Buzz and the Little Guy series is based on the journals I kept of backcountry vacations I took with my two boys when they were younger.  The Princess Em series (just one book so far) was created from whole cloth and is dedicated to my granddaughter.  I wanted her to know that girls can have adventures, too.
• Technology Consulting - I'm retired now, but after 40 years in IT, I occasionally get the opportunity to share what I know with companies looking for a little help.  I needed a place for that part of my professional life to call home, so carved out a piece of Calinkery for that purpose.  
• Calinkery Life - That's this blog.  Calinkery Life will primarily be stories, photos and trailcam videos captured through my life in the Colorado mountains.  I may provide updates on my books in this forum, too. 

I hope you enjoy everything you see here.  Feel free to post comments, but be please be kind.  One of the things that drove me away from social media is the nastiness there; we need to be better to one another.
